5 Great Recipe Ideas For Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is just around the corner, and after that there will be plenty of opportunities to go on a picnic in the park or host a cookout. Our gift shop at the Lake of the Ozarks has lots of delicious gourmet mixes that are perfect for serving a group of hungry people. Today we've shared 5 recipes that you can easily make from the Wind & Willow mixes we carry at Good & Perfect Gifts.

Zucchini Pizza
This is a delicious and unique way to make "pizza." It's perfect for vegetarians, but if you're a meat-lover, ground beef or sausage tastes great added on.

1 Brick Oven Pizza Cheeseball & Appetizer Mix
1/4 cup olive oil
2 small tomatoes, sliced
1 cup shredded cheese of your choice
1 fresh basil, chopped

Preheat oven to 375° or cook on the grill. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside. Cut each zucchini in half horizontally, then scoop out the seeds. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with dry Cheeseball Mix. Top with sliced tomato, cheese, basil, and sprinkle with topping packet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until soft. Serve warm. Feel free to add your favorite toppings in addition to the ones listed above.

Spinach Stuffed MushroomsA flavorful food to keep the crowd fed while the main dish is being prepared. The Spinach-Artichoke Cheeseball & Appetizer Mix is also a great crowd-pleaser served as a dip too!

1 Spinach-Artichoke Cheeseball & Appetizer Mix
8-oz. cream cheese
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) softened butter
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese or bread crumbs
1 dozen mushrooms

Preheat oven to 350° Line a baking pan with foil and spray with oil.
Combine Cheeseball Mix and contents of topping packet with cream cheese and butter. Fill mushroom caps with mixture. Top with parmesan cheese or bread crumbs. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Country Club Chicken Salad
If you're heading out for a picnic instead of a cookout, or if you have leftover grilled chicken that needs to be used, this recipe is perfect.

1 Wind & Willow Cheeseball & appetizer Mix
1 cup mayo
2 celery stalks - sliced or diced
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
30 red or green grapes - halved
1 roasted chicken (shredded or cubed)

Combine Wind & Willow Cheeseball Mix (topping used later) with 1 cup mayo and set aside. Place shredded or cubed chicken in a mixing bowl. Fold in mayo mixture, celery, walnuts, grapes, and 1/2 of the topping. Sprinkle remaining topping over chicken salad to garnish. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve on croissants or bread of your choice.
*Optional:
-For a healthier version, substitute the mayo with Greek yogurt!
-Serve on small toast points or dinner rolls for a quick appetizer.

Lemon Pops
These make a cool and tasty treat for a hot day!

1 Lemon Cheesecake Cheeseball & Dessert Mix
8-oz. plain yogurt
1/2 cup water
6 popsicle molds
6 popsicle sticks

In a saucepan, combine Cheeseball Mix (lemon or your favorite flavor! Pina Colada is a delicious one too.) with water, stirring over medium heat until well dissolved. Let mixture cool, then stir in yogurt. Pour yogurt mixture into the molds, adding a popsicle stick to each one. Place in freezer until frozen. Sprinkle with the graham crunch topping and enjoy!

Fresh Fruit Parfait
A wonderful fresh fruit dessert to serve after a big meal.

1 Wind & Willow Sweet Cheeseball Dessert Mix
8-oz. cream cheese
3 cups shortbread cookies, crushed
3 cups fresh fruit, sliced
8-oz. whipped topping
4 mason jars

Combine Cheeseball Mix with cream cheese until well combined. Spoon 4 Tbsp of cookie crumbs into each of the mason jars; top with 4 Tbsp of cream cheese mixture. Cover with layers of fruit, cookie crumbs, and cream cheese mixture. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with topping packet and a few berries for garnish.

*Tips:
-Use 8 smaller jars to double your parfaits!
-Substitute the crushed cookies with cubed angel food cake!

Ingredients

1 Broccoli Cheddar Soup Mix

8-10 Medium Potatoes (peeled & sliced)

1 cup Grated Cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease large baking dish.

Prepare Broccoli Cheddar Soup according to directions on package. Layer potatoes in baking dish. Pour soup over potatoes. Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes. Uncover and top with grated cheese. Return to oven for 10 minutes. Serves 6-8.

Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Mix

Delicious Football Foods From Our Gourmet Mixes

Football season is upon us, which means tailgating and football parties, and that means preparing food & drinks for lots of hungry people. Our Lake of the Ozarks gift shop has a large variety of mouth-watering gourmet mixes that will allow you to make some very impressive treats to fill up those football lovers. Today we are featuring a few recipe ideas from two of Good & Perfect Gifts' most popular companies: molly & drew-the Beer Bread Company, and Wind & Willow.

MOLLY & DREW
The delicious Beer Bread Company mixes from molly & drew combine two things that are always welcome when football is on: beer & snacks! (Although you can use another carbonated beverage in place of the beer for these recipes if you prefer.) You can bake the beer bread in mini muffin tins for a tray full of bite-size treats for the crowd. A few flavors we carry are: American Original, Gluten Free Original, Garlic Parmesan, and Taste of Tuscany.

These mixes also make amazing pizza crusts! Simply add 12 ounces of beer or another carbonated beverage to the mix and spread the dough onto a greased pizza pan or stone, bake at 350° until lightly browned, add toppings, then return to the oven until toppings are done. For a thicker crust, simply use less liquid. The dip mixes from molly & drew even taste great as a pizza topping.

You can tackle dessert with molly & drew mixes too. A new item that we have at Good & Perfect Gifts is their Mug Cake Kits. They are super simple to make, as the video below demonstrates, and as it states, you can have "cake today and, coffee tomorrow" thanks to the adorable cup that the mix comes in. Grilling Season is Here! Great Tastes for Your Next BBQ

One of the joys of the summer season is the glorious taste of food made on the grill. Our Wind & Willow gourmet mixes and dips are excellent for seasoning grilled food, plus they make some incredible side dishes. The Main Dish

Good & Perfect Treats

Our gift shop at the Lake of the Ozarks has a gigantic variety of wonderful items to give away or pick up for yourself. Among these, we feature many gourmet treats. All summer long, Good & Perfect Gifts in Eldon will be hosting our brand new Sample Saturdays, allowing you to taste many of these mixes, dips, and more!

Every Saturday this season, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, stop by and try a few of our most popular foods, plus a few brand new ones that are sure to become favorites. There are lots of different mixes for dips, cheeseballs, soups, pastas, pickles, bread, slow cookers, and more. We even carry our very own Good & Perfect Gifts brand for you to enjoy. Here are a few foods that we may offer on Sample Saturday.

The Good & Perfect label Tropical Chicken Salad Mix is full of flavor, and it is extremely simple to make. The mix itself contains dried cranberries, onions, pecans, and bell peppers. You simply add fresh pineapple and Miracle Whip and it’s ready to serve up to your hungry crowd.
